Job Description
Green Fuel is hiring a Maintenance Fitter (Class1) to support the mill mechanical engineering department by conducting routine inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, rebuilds, and installations of plant machinery and equipment. The professional in this position will respond to breakdowns promptly, follow standard operating procedures and safety standards, conduct risk assessments for tasks, and complete all required work order documentation. This role is suited for an experienced mechanical fitter with a background in apprentice training and industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventative, and planned maintenance checks in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Execute repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, and installations for plant machinery and equipment
- Respond immediately to plant breakdowns and complete tasks within the assigned timeframe
- Conduct risk assessments for every task to maintain a safe work environment
- Complete work order documentation following the completion of tasks
Requirements
- Apprentice trained Fitter certification
- At least 5 years of mechanical experience
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience within the sugar milling industry preferred
- Power plant experience is an added advantage
