Job Description
F&G, which has been providing annuity and life coverage since 1959, is hiring a Manager, Competitive Intelligence. This full-time position supports product strategy, product development, and distribution sales for annuity and life products. The job data labels the role as remote, while the posting says in-office, hybrid, and remote setups are settled with the manager during hiring. The role reports to the AVP who leads annuity product development and strategy, and it carries no direct reports, although it may offer mentoring and subject expertise.
The main job is to keep tabs on rival annuity and life products, including features, prices, rates, add-on riders, marketing materials, sample illustrations, market positioning, distribution moves, insurer financial strength, and key industry news. The manager converts findings into comparison grids, rate benchmarks, written reports, and slide decks for product leaders, development teams, sales staff, and distribution partners. The role also locates, checks, and maintains outside sources such as regulatory filings, industry polls, vendor data, and sales figures, and builds repeatable research workflows and reference guides. Regular collaboration includes product, sales, distribution, marketing, and actuarial or pricing groups.
Candidates need at least five years of relevant insurance or financial services experience, including competitive research, market review, or product benchmarking for life and annuity products. Practical familiarity with annuity and life features, distribution structures, sales workflows, and applicable regulations is required. Excel and PowerPoint proficiency is expected, along with clear communication in writing and speech. The work is largely desk-based, with an estimated travel allowance of up to 10%. A college degree is not strictly necessary, because a mix of schooling and experience is accepted. Accommodations are offered for qualified applicants with disabilities. No salary is listed.
