Parloa is an enterprise AI company that powers conversational experiences for global brands such as Booking.com, Allianz, and TUI. As the organization expands its footprint in agentic artificial intelligence, it is seeking a Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a team of field engineers.
In this remote, full-time role, the successful candidate will sit at the intersection of product delivery and enterprise adoption. Responsibilities include guiding strategic deployments, managing technical project delivery, overseeing capacity planning, and establishing scalable engineering practices. The person in this role will act as a technical leader who can review code, design architectures, unblock production hurdles, and translate field feedback into core product enhancements.
This position requires a technical professional who combines people management skills with deep hands-on expertise in backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise integrations. The team works with technologies such as TypeScript, NodeJS, OpenAI, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and MCP. Candidates should possess a strong background in software engineering, DevOps, or systems integration, alongside experience navigating complex enterprise environments and communicating directly with client stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and manage a team of forward-deployed engineers
- Handle capacity planning, resource allocation, and utilization tracking across parallel projects
- Manage end-to-end engineering delivery, milestones, risks, and escalation paths
- Implement tracking mechanisms to provide visibility into project progress and effort
- Guide architectural and implementation decisions while supporting production troubleshooting
- Create reusable playbooks, patterns, and field engineering standards
- Collaborate with Product and Core Engineering teams to share learnings from deployments
- Partner directly with client engineering, security, and architecture stakeholders
Requirements
- Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, systems integration, DevOps, or data engineering with production responsibility
- Demonstrated background in people leadership, coaching, and performance management
- Track record of delivering complex technical projects within enterprise environments
- Strong technical proficiency across backend development, APIs, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and databases
- Capability to personally drive technical workstreams and handle hands-on debugging when needed
- Clear communication skills for interacting with technical stakeholders and client engineering teams
Qualifications
- Experience building or integrating AI and large language model systems, agent workflows, orchestration tools, evaluation frameworks, vector databases, or guardrails
