Job Description
The HR Business Partner and Employee Relations Manager role at Meesho leads two linked areas. The first is HR business partnering for the contract and third-party workforce. The second is employee relations across the company's businesses and locations. The post is based in Bengaluru and covers staff in offices, remote workers at home and people in field roles.
The manager leads a team of six direct reports and works with business leaders, finance, legal, talent acquisition, HR operations, payroll, the ethics and investigations function and staffing partners. Day-to-day work includes workforce planning and budgeting, keeping visibility of hiring, vacancies, attrition and contract renewals, and advising managers on performance and retention. Analysing workforce data to find risks and recommend interventions is part of the role.
On the employee relations side, the manager oversees complex matters such as misconduct, fraud, harassment, conflicts of interest and policy breaches, and leads or supervises workplace investigations. Decisions have to follow company policy, employment law and the principles of natural justice. The role also oversees compliance with labour laws, minimum wages and contractor obligations, and runs audits of vendors and internal controls.
The position suits an experienced HR professional with a strong background in both business partnering and employee relations, who has previously led an HR or ER team and handles confidential matters with sound judgement.

- Advise business and finance leaders on workforce planning, headcount budgets, organisation design and cost control.
- Track headcount, vacancies, redeployments, contract renewals, attrition and workforce cost.
- Partner with managers on performance, talent development, succession and performance improvement plans.
- Lead the employee relations agenda across businesses and locations, including investigations and grievances.
- Guide HR business partners and managers on disciplinary steps and sensitive conversations.
- Oversee governance of hiring, onboarding, background checks, attendance, payroll inputs, insurance and exits.
- Monitor compliance with minimum wage, statutory and contractor requirements, and run periodic audits.
- Mentor the six people who report to you across both charters.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of progressive HR experience, spanning business partnering and employee relations.
- Experience running a sizeable, spread-out contract, third-party, field or high-volume workforce.
- Proven handling of complex ER cases, investigations, disciplinary actions and fraud-related matters.
- Solid knowledge of labour legislation, statutory obligations, minimum wage rules and audits.
- Having an earlier record of heading up an HRBP or ER function is required.
- Track record of overseeing staffing vendors and running the full employee lifecycle.
- Strong stakeholder management, investigation, documentation and data analysis skills.
- Willingness to travel to support teams across multiple locations.
Qualifications
