Responsibilities
- Contribute to machine learning and artificial intelligence research applicable to platform problems
- Gather, evaluate, and synthesize data findings to construct intelligent data-driven models
- Write clean, efficient, and sustainable source code
- Apply machine learning, graph analysis, and natural language processing to solve modeling and ranking issues across search, ads, and discovery
- Design, build, and test predictive engagement models for push, email, and in-app notifications
- Develop content recommendation systems for notifications
- Work on state-of-the-art applied machine learning projects at scale
Requirements
- Doctor of Philosophy degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information Sciences, or a related field
- Practical machine learning background encompassing ranking, content recommendations, computer vision, embeddings, natural language processing, or information retrieval
- Experience utilizing big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark alongside scalable real-time stream processing systems
- Mastery of at least one machine learning framework like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MLFlow, or a systems language such as C++, Python, or Java
- Proficiency with AI-native engineering, including designing agent-friendly codebases and utilizing agent-first development tools
- Strong critical thinking skills for validating correctness, security, performance, and maintainability of AI-generated suggestions
- Ability to independently scope and solve moderately complex problems
