Job Description
micro1 is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Expert for a fully remote contract position. This role requires approximately 15 hours per week on a flexible schedule where contractors choose their own days and hours, including weekends. The position involves contributing to an artificial intelligence training project that focuses on simulation, physical modeling, engineering design, technical problem-solving, and Python programming. Professionals will create, solve, review, and validate tasks across multiphysics, thermal, structural, and mechanical domains.
Selected experts will translate physical requirements into computational models, generate necessary meshes or geometries, apply boundary conditions and materials, run simulations, and verify whether designs meet specified constraints. Because this is a heavy coding position, applicants must have practical proficiency with coding agents in their daily workflow.
Compensation for this project is output-based, meaning experts receive payment per completed task that aligns with project specifications. Candidates must be ready to begin immediately and start their initial task within 24 to 48 hours after completing the onboarding process.
Responsibilities
- Solve and validate mechanical engineering problems spanning testing, R&D, design, analysis, and simulation
- Convert physical systems and engineering requirements into computational or analytical models
- Develop or adjust meshes, geometry, materials, contacts, loads, constraints, and solver inputs
- Create, solve, review, and validate engineering assignments across thermal, structural, mechanical, and multiphysics domains
Requirements
- Experience using coding agents in daily workflows
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience developing computational, analytical, or simulation-based engineering solutions
Qualifications
- Master of Science or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field
- Strong understanding of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering fundamentals
Core Skills
Benefits
- Flexible schedule allowing workers to choose their hours and days, including weekends
- Fully remote work environment
