Ocrolus is seeking a Mortgage Forward Deployed Engineer to operate at the intersection of fintech and artificial intelligence. The employer develops an automated workflow and analytics platform utilized by lenders to process credit applications and streamline financial evaluations. In this remote, full-time role, the selected candidate will function as an engineer, architect, and trusted advisor to bridge the gap between clients and the company platform.
The position requires close collaboration with the Account Management, onboarding, and implementation teams, alongside occasional travel to customer sites and industry events. Responsibilities span prototyping custom integrations, running proof-of-concept engagements, troubleshooting live technical issues, and channeling customer feedback back into the product roadmap. The role suits professionals with a background in mortgage or lending workflows who thrive in fast-paced settings and possess strong consultative skills.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert and trusted advisor during the post-sales phase
- Embed with customer teams to understand workflows and demonstrate platform efficiency
- Consult on and review technical solutions, APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and integrations
- Build and support solutions for mortgage clients utilizing Ocrolus, Encompass, and other POS or LOS mortgage platforms
- Execute proof-of-concept and proof-of-value engagements to display return on investment quickly
- Troubleshoot technical problems within live environments
- Collaborate with Account Management and Product teams to deliver value and influence product strategy
- Travel occasionally to customer locations and industry events
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or solutions engineering
- Three or more years of background experience in lending or mortgage workflows
- Strong understanding of and experience with Encompass
- Strong consultative sales and account management approach
- Effective communication and presentation abilities for engaging senior mortgage executives
- Backend proficiency in Python, APIs, Encompass Developer Connect, and SQL
- Frontend proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and ICE Secure Scripting Framework for custom Encompass form and workflow logic
- Familiarity with mortgage LOS and POS platforms, Git, and cloud fundamentals
Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS integrations or loan origination systems
- Additional mortgage LOS or POS experience
- Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or generative AI
