Job Description
Mercury invites individual founders and small technical teams focused on engineering and product management to submit open applications. The company builds financial technology tools, including AI products such as Command, CLI, and MCP, designed to help customers manage financial work through natural language, terminal access, and direct verified financial data integration.
This opportunity is designed for autonomous individuals and small teams who operate with high independence, from identifying customer problems and building workflows end to end to shipping rapidly and measuring outcomes. Applicants may apply either as solo candidates or as pre-existing teams.

Responsibilities
- Identify customer problems by working closely with users to determine what needs to be built
- Build and automate workflows end to end utilizing Command, CLI, MCP, and the company AI stack
- Ship products rapidly through quick understanding, tight iteration, and deployment
- Measure project impact objectively to eliminate unsuccessful experiments and expand successful ones
- Operate within an autonomous team structure to select targets, execute delivery, and manage outcomes
Requirements
- Have shipped a real product, tool, company, or open-source project that people actively use
- Demonstrate cross-functional capability as a product manager who can prototype or an engineer with product sense
- Hold strong opinions regarding AI products alongside the judgment to quickly identify incorrect assumptions
- Embrace fast-paced experimentation while treating failures as a natural part of discovery
- Focus on impactful craft while avoiding unnecessary polish on non-essential elements
- Communicate clearly and maintain accountability for business impact, customer time saved, and scalability
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building AI products using AI
- Knowledge regarding RAG, evals, and agent harnesses
