Canonical is seeking professionals for Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances positions across multiple seniority levels in a fully remote setup. This profitable and growing firm operates as a distributed team comprising over twelve hundred personnel spanning more than seventy-five countries.
This general track welcomes candidates with a background in technology revenue generation, offering paths in Enterprise Sales or Alliances Sales. Enterprise Sales Executives manage direct client relationships to deliver efficient solutions, whereas Alliances Sales Directors oversee portfolios involving hardware vendors, software vendors, distributors, and channel partners. Personnel collaborate across various internal divisions including marketing, legal, engineering, and finance. While day-to-day operations take place remotely, staff members assemble two to four times annually for in-person alignment sprints in global locations. Candidates should possess a strong background in Linux and open source technologies, professional English communication skills, and a readiness for domestic and international travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage a book of business to enable collaboration with go-to-market partners, hardware and software vendors, solution integrators, and distributors
- Drive market expansion and revenue growth through alliance and channel business development
- Maintain and grow direct customer relationships to craft efficient and complex problem-solving solutions
- Align with internal field teams, marketing, sales engineering, and product management to meet objectives
- Deliver the voice of the customer or partner back to leadership
- Lead executive interlocks connecting partners and customers with company leadership
- Advocate for open source capabilities on Ubuntu to increase customer awareness
Requirements
- Demonstrated revenue-generating experience within the technology industry
- Familiarity with Linux and open-source software ecosystems
- Experience in negotiating contracts and commercial business terms
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency along with presentation skills
- Availability to travel internationally twice per year for company events and periodically to meet clients
- High level of personal drive, self-motivation, and accountability
