Job Description
This full-time, on-site partner solutions architect role is based in the United States, and the posting asks that candidates live in the Washington, DC metro region. The role is in the public sector and is sales-aligned, with a partner-sourced pipeline target. It exists to extend Elastic's technical reach through partners such as system integrators, resellers, managed security providers and cloud providers, so partners can generate opportunities, close business and run Elastic independently.
The role covers three areas. The first is growing business with and through partners: generating approved partner deal registrations with partner managers, running partner-specific sales playbooks, supporting qualification and technical scoping, and helping partner-led opportunities move forward through labs and proofs of concept. The second focus is partner capability: holding technical contacts and designated champions at every partner, keeping a technical engagement plan current, and running enablement and certification tracks that lift each partner's maturity.
The third area is co-building repeatable solutions. Together with partners, the architect drafts blueprints and reference designs, produces demos and sales cards partners can run solo, and co-releases customer success stories, articles and sales material.
Success is measured through results like partner-originated deals, signed engagement plans and released materials. Candidates should have some presales experience in software, ideally partner-facing, along with working knowledge of security operations or observability, AI and semantic search, and a major cloud platform. Travel of about 30 percent is expected. The posting describes Elastic as a search AI company used by more than half of the Fortune 500.
Responsibilities
- Generate approved partner deal registrations with partner managers for the assigned territory
- Run partner-tailored sales playbooks, including deal qualification and technical scoping
- Assist partner-led deals with practical labs and proofs of concept, alongside account teams
- Manage each partner's technical contacts and champions across the portfolio
- Maintain a technical engagement plan for each focus partner and run quarterly read-outs
- Deliver enablement and certification roadmaps that move partners up a technical maturity model
- Lead hands-on lab workshops covering Elastic products
- Co-architect solution blueprints with partners, including hyperscalers, and produce reusable demos and battlecards
Requirements
- Minimum of two years in tech solutions, practice building, architecture, consulting or cloud infrastructure work
- A degree in CS, information systems, engineering or a neighboring field, or comparable hands-on experience
- At least one year of presales work in software, preferably with partners
- Mindset that scales through others, teaching engineers to run demos rather than running them alone
- Practical familiarity with SecOps or observability, and with AI and semantic search concepts
- Background designing or running workloads on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Commercial fluency for discussing a partner's deal scope and margins
- Strong communicator for both technical and business audiences, able to lead by influence
- Willingness to travel about 30 percent and to be based in the Washington, DC metro region
Qualifications
- Practical exposure to AI and ML tooling, such as LLMs, embeddings, vector search or agent frameworks
- Proficiency in Python, Bash or a similar language for automation and demonstrations
- Earlier work in technical instruction or curriculum design
