Ryz Labs is hiring a Principal Software Architect to join its remote engineering group, serving key international clients with a focus on Latin America applicants. Founded in 2021 by experienced entrepreneurs, the startup studio builds scalable cloud applications across various industries while maintaining a distributed workforce.
In this position, the professional will operate as a hands-on technical leader, bridging long-term strategy with daily execution. Responsibilities include modernizing legacy platforms, writing core code, establishing engineering standards, embedding DevSecOps practices, and managing infrastructure costs and service agreements alongside product managers.
The role suits a senior architect with a strong background in distributed systems, platform automation, and cross-functional guidance. Candidates will experience an environment emphasizing autonomy, rapid execution, customer focus, and high standards.
Responsibilities
- Design strategies for fresh applications and legacy platform modernizations
- Write core code components to establish frameworks and implementation baselines
- Accelerate the adoption of automated CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps principles, and reusable libraries
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to track infrastructure costs and define Service Level Agreements
- Lead engineering communities, review architecture designs, and mentor technical leads
Requirements
- Ten or more years of background in software engineering, technical leadership, or software architecture
- Demonstrated ability in designing multi-tier distributed systems while actively writing production code
- Deep familiarity with containerization, modern CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as OpenTofu or Pulumi
- Capacity to steer cross-functional teams and set engineering standards without direct management authority
- Advanced written and verbal English communication abilities to interface directly with client leadership
- Solid project management foundation utilizing Agile frameworks and modern delivery software
- Located in Latin America for this remote position
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous background developing software inside enterprise SaaS, business consulting, or advisory sectors
- History of building technical consensus across matrixed and cross-functional client units
- Active contributions to open-source software projects or developer communities
- Experience designing internal training programs to improve engineering practices
