Job Description
Figma seeks a Product Design Intern to join the organization for a summer program. The company builds a collaborative platform that enables teams to handle everything from initial brainstorming and prototyping to code translation and AI iteration in real time.
In this internship position, the selected individual will handle full feature design tasks from concept through release. Participants work closely with mentors, fellow designers, and cross-functional peers to ship meaningful product updates over the course of the summer. Past interns have delivered projects such as the Figma Grid Billing Experience and Figma Draw.
This opportunity is suited for individuals eager to learn, demonstrate self-starting initiative, and gain hands-on experience building collaborative design tools. Candidates must be available to work from the designated hub offices.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete design lifecycle for features that launch quickly
- Partner with product, research, marketing, and additional departments to determine user and business requirements
- Coordinate closely with engineering personnel to guarantee accurate implementation
- Develop user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual assets
- Take part in regular weekly design review sessions
Requirements
- Demonstrated foundational competence in interaction design and/or visual design
- Background in launching projects featuring sound visual design and product strategy
- Capacity to communicate concepts utilizing code and prototyping
- Drive to learn alongside proven self-starting initiative
- Requirement to attend in-person onboarding upon hire
Qualifications
- Familiarity or background with design systems and design tools
- Aptitude or inclination toward information architecture and systems thinking
- Understanding of the foundational elements of a design tool or similar creative applications
