Canonical seeks a Product Manager - Cloud to shape commercial strategy and marketing leadership within its cloud native operations product areas, focusing on Juju, identity management, and observability. This opportunity suits a technical professional with a background in open source software and cloud native landscapes who can establish product vision, guide engineering teams, and collaborate across departments. The position operates remotely within the EMEA region, with expectations for global travel up to four times annually for internal team sprints.
The successful candidate will manage product lifecycles, set key performance indicators, partner with sales teams to win new business, and contribute to developer marketing efforts.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of assigned products by reviewing goals and priorities
- Partner closely with engineering leads to oversee product development processes
- Collaborate across engineering, design, marketing, and sales departments to align priorities and address shared challenges
- Gather customer feedback, analyze market trends, and conduct research to identify new opportunities
- Coach, mentor, and train team members to support professional growth
- Define and track key performance indicators to report project status
- Support sales operations by evaluating customer feedback and joining customer discussions
Requirements
- Demonstrated product management experience in technical fields involving open source software usage or management within cloud native environments
- Background in designing or managing software operations for large scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers
- Knowledge of enterprise security and compliance standards related to software operations
- Track record of leading technical teams toward execution excellence
- Experience in developer marketing with a passion for writing about technology
- Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
- Availability to travel up to four times per year for internal gatherings
