Job Description
PadSplit wants a contract-based QA Engineer who can work from any location across Europe. The position supports the Marketplace group, which handles mobile apps for iOS and Android, web experiences and backend platform services. The engineer acts as a guardian of product quality across that whole stack.
Typical tasks include drafting test plans, verifying multi-step journeys that pass between interfaces and backend services, and checking APIs, data accuracy and business rules. Before each launch, the engineer carries out regression runs on every platform to lower the chance that problems reach real users.
When something breaks, the engineer digs into logs, network traces and API responses, writes up and ranks the bugs, and works with developers to find causes. Upkeep of test setups, device pools and sample data also falls within the role, as does flagging quality threats during sprint planning and release preparation.
Successful applicants will have practical testing experience across mobile, web or server-side systems, a firm grasp of RESTful API checks and familiarity with Postman or similar tools. Clear English in writing and speech and comfort in a remote, changing startup are expected. The selection path starts with a Hiring Manager review, followed by a roughly half-hour video chat with PeopleOps, a one-hour technical video interview with the QA Lead and a QA Engineer, and a final hour-long live technical exercise. Pay depends on the scope of the work, regional market rates and the applicant's background.

- Map out and carry out test strategies spanning mobile, web and backend work
- Confirm end-to-end flows that run through both front-end screens and server systems
- Check API responses, data integrity and business logic
- Execute regression testing on every platform before releases
- Investigate defects using logs, network inspection and API tools
- Log, prioritize and follow defects while helping engineers find root causes
- Keep test environments, device coverage and dependable test data in order
- Raise quality concerns early during sprint and release planning
Requirements
- Hands-on testing experience across mobile, web and/or backend platforms
- Strong skill in validating REST APIs and backend logic
- Solid grasp of how software and test cycles are organized
- Practical use of API tools like Postman or equivalents
- Understanding of system design, integrations and data movement
- Ability to thrive in a remote, quick-changing and still-evolving environment
- Clear written and spoken English
