Job Description
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe seeks six Refueling Drivers to maintain energy availability across critical network sites in Harare, Masvingo, Gweru, Mutare, and Bulawayo. This position supports operational continuity by delivering fuel, managing site security, and handling first-line generator checks.
Selected candidates will pick up fuel, transport it securely to base stations, complete offloading operations, and monitor generator fuel levels. The role also requires managing ZESA tokens, overseeing casual workers for hard-to-reach locations, and reporting any transit or site discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Collect fuel from designated pickup locations and transport it to base station sites
- Accept and close all planned and emergency fuel deliveries inside the AUTIN system
- Handle all fuel offloading connections and measure tank levels before and after refueling
- Perform preliminary generator inspections and report any mechanical issues
- Top up and verify ZESA power tokens at designated locations
- Protect fuel shipments against theft, tampering, or discrepancies
- Supervise casual laborers carrying fuel to unreachable locations
- Verify site cleanliness and monitor overall security conditions
- Keep assigned vehicles in roadworthy condition while following safety rules
- Draft daily operational reports and respond to urgent after-hours refueling requests
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of professional driving experience
- Possession of a Class 2 Driver's licence
- Hold a valid defensive driving certificate
- Complete at least six Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics
