Job Description
Canonical is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead internal software for its Salesforce and NetSuite environment within the Commercial Systems unit. The post is full-time and remote, based in EMEA. The unit operates six engineering teams that work alongside other engineering and business groups, and the systems it builds underpin much of how the company runs.
The manager would lead the Business Systems team, which owns NetSuite, Salesforce and several other platforms. That team partners with operations staff, puts business processes into the systems, and makes sure they stay compliant. The post suits a leader who is curious about the business and wants colleagues to have a first-rate experience with the tools they depend on.
The manager answers for the design and build of an internal product and directs a group of software engineers. Growing the abilities of direct reports is a core responsibility, as is pressing for stronger processes, designs and solutions. The manager also develops a grounded understanding of what the business needs, so the team delivers where it counts most.
Applicants need a strong academic background and an undergraduate degree in a technical field, or a convincing alternative path. The post looks for a history of exceeding expectations and delivering standout results, plus hands-on experience building software on Salesforce, NetSuite or a similar CRM or ERP platform. Fluent, precise English, both written and spoken, with polished presentation skills, is required, along with a steady drive to deliver.
Work includes company gatherings twice a year, each lasting up to two weeks. Exposure to accounting, sales, sales ops or similar business functions, and an interest in performance engineering, are useful extras.
