Black Pen Recruitment seeks a remote Scrum Master for a business-to-business contract. In this position, the specialist will operate remotely within the European Union and collaborate closely with a major client information technology group on-site.
This role suits an experienced agile professional with a background in leading production teams through complete sprint cycles and implementing data-driven improvements. Responsibilities include organizing ceremonies, collaborating with product owners, tracking flow metrics, and removing operational impediments while championing agile standards and tools.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and moderate agile gatherings such as daily stand-ups, planning sessions, reviews, refinements, and retrospectives
- Keep sessions constructive, focused, and strictly within allocated time limits
- Partner with the product owner to handle backlog administration
- Educate the team and product owner regarding empiricism and incremental delivery
- Monitor and display flow metrics to direct data-driven enhancements
- Spot and eliminate obstacles to team progression
- Foster self-organizing groups, psychological safety, and collaborative decision-making
- Maintain the definition of done, quality gates, and company standards
- Liaise with other scrum masters and product owners to maintain visibility into risks and delivery progress
- Guide the team in utilizing development and planning tools such as Azure DevOps and Confluence
Requirements
- University degree
- Minimum of 8 years of IT professional experience
- At least 3 years of dedicated experience working as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or above
- Experience leading at least 2 production teams through full sprint cycles
- Experience implementing data-driven continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience coordinating cross-team work via Scrum-of-Sorums or PI Planning events
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps or Jira
- Excellent command of the English language
Qualifications
- Possession of PSM II or higher certification
- Possession of SAFe 5 or 6 Agilist certification
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks including SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS
- Knowledge of integrating SAFe and Kanban approaches
