In this role, you will take charge of building, deploying, and refining machine learning and generative AI features, specifically supporting Research Flow to blend quantitative metrics with qualitative insights. Working closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineers, you will lead the full lifecycle of AI applications ranging from initial research and prototyping to scalable, secure production systems.
This hands-on position suits an experienced engineer who can balance performance, speed, cost, and system reliability while shaping technical standards across the organization. Your daily scope will encompass creating retrieval-augmented generation architectures, agentic workflows, automated evaluation mechanisms, and enterprise-grade machine learning pipelines. Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and deploy generative AI tools and APIs across company products, focusing heavily on Research Flow.
- Develop applications utilizing large language models, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic systems.
- Convert early prototypes into dependable production systems accompanied by clear quality and performance metrics.
- Operate machine learning workflows and services using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS infrastructure.
- Build batch and real-time processing pipelines via tools such as Airflow and Kafka.
- Create automated evaluation frameworks and benchmarks to measure accuracy, fairness, latency, cost, and relevance.
- Establish technical standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for releasing and monitoring AI systems.
- Collaborate directly with product, data science, engineering, and analytics teams to align technology with customer needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems into production.
- Demonstrated software engineering capabilities and strong proficiency in Python.
- Practical background in developing generative AI applications utilizing large language models, tool use, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Familiarity with frameworks including PyTorch, LangChain, or LangGraph.
- Solid understanding of enterprise retrieval-augmented generation architectures, chunking, embeddings, and reranking.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and continuous integration practices.
- Experience managing machine learning workflows using MLflow alongside production monitoring tools like Datadog.
Qualifications
- Prior work experience within a business-to-business SaaS organization.
- Familiarity with orchestration utilities such as Airflow or Argo Workflows.
- Knowledge of data processing technologies including SQL, Spark, or Snowflake.
- Background in developing systems that merge structured data, unstructured data, and generative AI.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence security, prompt injection protection, data privacy, and leakage prevention.
