Job Description
Nimble Gravity is hiring a full-time Senior Data Engineer to work remotely. In this role, you will lead the creation of foundational data pipeline infrastructure for the organization's decentralized Data Mesh model. You will spearhead the migration of legacy on-premises architecture over to a modern cloud data platform centered on Snowflake. Additionally, you will focus on making data platforms ready for artificial intelligence by developing reliable semantic layers and pipelines that support Self-Service 2.0 natural language capabilities.
This position is well-suited for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical mentorship and leadership. You will manage one data engineer directly and guide decentralized business analysts to improve their engineering standards. Outside of technical delivery, you will work closely with clients such as financial institutions, engineers, and artificial intelligence specialists to implement emerging technologies.

Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines that handle batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement from cloud and on-prem sources
- Manage the Snowflake data platform to ensure proper performance, modeling, and storage structures
- Build transformation pipelines and robust semantic layers to support AI features and natural language user interfaces
- Establish CI/CD best practices, standard templates, and reference architectures for decentralized business teams
- Provide direct management and career mentorship to a data engineer while guiding domain data analysts
- Promote the use of dbt for data transformations and integrate cloud data tools across AWS and Azure
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines
- Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing
- Experience moving data across hybrid environments using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns
- Experience structuring data for consumption by downstream AI, LLM, or natural language search features
- Strong Python and SQL programming skills
Qualifications
- Experience with dbt and the dbt Semantic Layer
- Familiarity with Azure data tools like Azure Data Factory and Azure Functions
- Exposure to AWS data ecosystems
