The organization currently partners with over one thousand merchants across diverse sectors such as fashion, cosmetics, furniture, jewelry, and consumer electronics. To support this growth, Extend is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Revenue & Risk Analytics to join a remote-first team. This remote position involves shaping strategies across the entire revenue waterfall, collaborating with client-facing personnel, and partnering with product and engineering groups to influence product roadmaps. The ideal professional combines strong technical skills in modeling and experimentation with business acumen to connect data insights directly to company profitability. Candidates will manage data infrastructure, refine analytical pipelines, and act as role models for analytical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Identify and execute innovative strategies across the revenue waterfall to grow and recover revenue in partnership with client-facing teams
- Develop narratives and communication tracks for the revenue division using insights derived from testing, machine learning models, and Monte Carlo simulations
- Validate optimization concepts through data testing and advocate for backend product and engineering teams to integrate these concepts into product features
- Own, maintain, and upgrade data pipelines, data structures, and tracking methodologies to discover revenue opportunities
- Establish standards for analytical rigor and strategic thinking across the team
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in product data science or consulting focused on strategic thinking and business impact
- Strong background in experimentation, statistical forecasting, causal inference, and modeling
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with backend product and engineering teams on product roadmap implementation
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, GitHub, A/B testing, Snowflake, and dbt or similar tools
- Willingness to prioritize holistic business needs beyond just the revenue organization
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in analytics, data science, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline
