Job Description
Moneybox is an award-winning wealth management platform operating in the UK that serves nearly two million customers by helping them save, invest, buy homes, and prepare for retirement. The company is developing a new personal financial advice service and seeks an experienced professional to join the team. In the role of Senior Financial Advisor, you will act as a key technical anchor for complex cases such as pension consolidation and drawdown, working alongside an automated advice engine rather than replacing it. You will review generated plans against established standards, handle escalations, oversee quality assurance, and provide coaching to colleagues.
This position suits an experienced practitioner with deep technical knowledge of UK pensions and regulatory compliance who wants to shape a modern hybrid advice service. Daily tasks include conducting video consultations with clients, managing complex support escalations, making final determinations on off-ramping, checking advice files, and collaborating with product and risk teams. Candidates must be based in the UK, as the position follows a hybrid or remote structure requiring adherence to standard UK business hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct video consultations with customers to establish goals, explain plans, and answer questions
- Handle complex escalations regarding vulnerable individuals, multiple pension pots, and suitability assessments
- Make final decisions on off-ramping clients from the service with proper documentation
- Manage insistent clients while protecting both the customer and the firm
- Review engine-generated plans against internal suitability standards within agreed service level agreements
- Perform quality assurance reviews on advice provided by other advisors and support staff
- Contribute expert knowledge to the House Rules that govern the advice engine recommendations
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, and product teams to stress test models and improve workflows
- Act as a technical reference point and coach for less experienced advisers, paraplanners, and money guides
Requirements
- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (QCF Level 4) or equivalent
- Significant additional qualifications in pensions such as AF7 or equivalent
- Substantial post-qualification experience as a regulated advisor focused on retirement and at-retirement guidance
- Deep technical knowledge of UK pensions, drawdown, tax-free cash sequencing, ISAs, and investment tax treatment
- Demonstrable experience conducting quality assurance, file checking, or T&C supervision
- Familiarity with operating in a restricted advice environment and defining the boundary between advice and guidance
- Fluency with the Consumer Duty regime and a track record of delivering positive customer outcomes
Qualifications
- Chartered Financial Planner status or working towards it
- Experience working in or alongside automated, robo-advice, or hybrid advice environments
- Background in contributing to House Rules, advice models, or advice logic
