Tines is hiring a remote Senior Forward Deployed Engineer - Public Sector to join as a founding member of its forward-deployed team. Tines operates an intelligent workflow platform utilized by startups and public companies alike, enabling integration across the tech stack through automation and artificial intelligence. In this position, the engineer embeds directly with federal and public sector clients to champion transformational AI adoption.
This role suits an autonomous technical professional capable of operating within complex enterprise settings. The individual will manage the entire customer lifecycle, from initial implementation and technical troubleshooting to uncovering new opportunities for business impact. Responsibilities include serving as a primary technical point of contact, leading interactive workshops, and guiding stakeholders ranging from end-users to Chief Technology Officers.
Candidates must possess extensive technical experience alongside a background supporting public sector accounts. The position requires strong coding abilities, particularly in Python, along with production-level familiarity with artificial intelligence systems and large language models. The selected candidate must be located within the Eastern Time Zone in the United States and be willing to travel between 20 and 40 percent of the time to client locations.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end technical implementations of the platform within intricate enterprise environments
- Support and train users across all organizational levels to maximize platform utilization
- Discover new use cases to expand platform adoption across different teams and workflows
- Act as the primary technical advisor for customers by troubleshooting issues and removing obstacles
- Build long-term relationships with daily users and executive sponsors
- Relay field insights, recurring friction points, and unmet customer needs back to internal engineering and product teams
- Travel 20 to 40 percent of the time to client sites to build trust and strengthen relationships
Requirements
- 8 plus years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Software Engineer
- 5 plus years of experience working with federal or public sector clients
- Strong engineering background to manage integrations and troubleshoot production environments
- Proficiency in Python
- Production experience deploying and working with large language models and artificial intelligence systems
- Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be based in the Eastern Time Zone
