Striveworks is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer to join its team on a full-time basis. The company focuses on delivering trusted AI and machine learning systems that address real-world challenges and maintain performance beyond the laboratory setting.
In this position, you will serve as a key contributor in developing the next generation of the organization's machine learning operations platform. You will team up with product designers, data scientists, DevOps professionals, and fellow software engineers to design reliable and intuitive user interfaces.
This role is well-suited for an experienced engineer who possesses a strong product focus and enjoys creating software that simplifies complex machine learning capabilities. Striveworks operates with a culture rooted in respect, direct communication, individual ownership, and trust.
Candidates may work in a fully remote setup or choose a hybrid or on-site arrangement at the company office located in Austin, Texas. The position involves up to ten percent travel.
Responsibilities
- Build the next iteration of the company machine learning operations platform as a core team member
- Partner with data scientists, software developers, product designers, and DevOps engineers to translate technical and user needs into maintainable experiences
- Integrate artificial intelligence development utilities, such as LLMs and code agents, into routine workflows to improve engineering output
- Maintain high code quality standards suitable for agentic work while delivering concise and well-scoped changes
Requirements
- Six or more years of professional software development background alongside a STEM bachelor degree, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with user interface and user experience principles, responsive design, modern CSS, and design patterns
- Demonstrated background constructing production web applications using React
- High proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript
- Background connecting REST APIs and working knowledge of GraphQL
- Familiarity with modern front-end tooling and frameworks including Vite and Next.js
- Background utilizing automated and unit testing frameworks like Jest and Playwright
- Experience building and releasing software via cloud-based platforms
- Proficiency with design systems and component libraries such as Material UI
- Knowledge of modern distributed version control systems like Git
- Ability to work effectively alongside cross-functional team members to deliver intuitive user experiences
- US citizenship with the eligibility and willingness to secure a Secret security clearance
Qualifications
- Background with front-end libraries and tools including React Context API, Axios, TanStack Query, and styled-components
- Skill in Go and/or Python
- Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes utilizing utilities like Helm
- Background operating and deploying applications in cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWS
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows
- Experience working directly alongside product designers to convert Figma mockups into polished user interfaces
- Enthusiasm for exploring design alternatives, understanding user needs, and iterating on user experience solutions
- Active Secret security clearance or higher
