Alpaca operates a global, agent-first brokerage infrastructure platform supporting various asset classes, including stocks, ETFs, crypto, and options, for millions of brokerage accounts globally. The company is currently hiring a remote, full-time Senior Frontend Engineer for its Acquisition team.
In this role, the engineer will design, build, and support frontend applications that drive the user experience for Trading API customers. Responsibilities include working on frontend trading dashboards and underlying backend systems that power features like paper accounts and high-yield cash. The position requires collaborating across cross-functional teams to build responsive, performant, accessible, and polished user interfaces while also mentoring other engineers and guiding technical direction.

Responsibilities
- Architect and develop web and mobile applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build responsive and intuitive user interfaces
- Take ownership of high-visibility feature delivery from initial design through deployment
- Mentor fellow team members and influence company technical strategy
Requirements
- At least five years of frontend development experience utilizing TypeScript and React
- At least three years of mobile application development experience targeting Android and iOS
- At least two years of experience with a modern systems programming language such as Rust, C++, or Golang
- Strong communication and collaboration capabilities
- Ability to convert product mockups and design assets into functional user interfaces
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS frameworks including TailwindCSS
- Familiarity with REST APIs and WebSocket best practices
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL
- Demonstrated ability to establish or influence frontend development best practices
- High attention to detail and appreciation for design aesthetics
Qualifications
- Background in algorithmic trading, either professional or personal
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms, with a primary focus on GCP
- Prior understanding or experience within financial markets
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Prior remote work experience
