Taboola is seeking a Senior GenAI Engineer for its GenAI team at the Tel Aviv office. The role centers on developing and improving the company's generative AI products, with the goal of making content discovery, personalization and monetization work well at large scale.
The engineer would own the complete algorithmic lifecycle of a multilingual, user-facing GenAI product. Day-to-day work includes evaluating newly released LLMs both offline and online, measuring the quality of generated content, reducing hallucinations, assessing router calls, tool use and guardrails, and improving retrieval in combination with named entity recognition. Named projects include DeeperDive, LLM monetization, organic recommendations, personalized ads and personalized user questions.

Requirements

- Solid working knowledge of Python, SQL and Spark
- Working familiarity with statistical modeling methods
- Two or more years of practical work on GenAI workflows, covering agentic RAG, tool-call evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge methods, RLHF and fine-tuning of LLMs
- Three-plus years in data science and visual analytics
- Three-plus years building classical ML algorithms and NLP models
- Sharp analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
- Strength in mentoring others and speaking in public
- Track record of research papers, technical documentation or conference talks
- Experience with Java or Scala
