Ro seeks a remote Senior IT Engineer to join its technology team in the United States on a full-time basis. In this hands-on, individual contributor position, you will build, operate, and maintain internal technology systems and endpoints within a cloud-native, modern environment. Ro operates a vertically integrated healthcare platform connecting telehealth, diagnostics, pharmacy, and logistics to deliver a patient-centric digital healthcare experience.
This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys managing multi-platform environments—including macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, and VDI—while utilizing modern automation, infrastructure-as-code, and AI-assisted workflows. You will report directly to the Senior IT Engineering Manager, collaborating closely with security, risk management, and other internal technology teams. Responsibilities span endpoint administration, Zero Trust strategy implementation, cloud VDI operation, and participating in an on-call rotation approximately every six weeks.
Responsibilities
- Manage and tune macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, and VDI endpoints for optimal performance and security
- Administer enterprise browser policies, extension management, and secure defaults
- Build and maintain no-code and low-code automations using tools like Tines and Okta Workflows
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code to standardize provisioning and configuration management
- Contribute to the deployment of the company Zero Trust strategy across device and user identities
- Own and operate the cloud-hosted VDI environment and underlying server infrastructure
- Contribute tooling such as osquery and Santa to IT Engineering GitHub repositories
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and Risk Management teams to protect company assets
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tooling to build and debug system integrations
- Provide support for escalated IT Engineering issues and join an on-call rotation every six weeks
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of IT Engineering experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable systems
- Solid understanding of endpoint management capabilities across platforms including MDM, BYOD, and MAM
- Fluent in scripting and interacting with APIs using bash, Python, or low-code tools like Okta Workflows
- Experience packaging and deploying software idempotently
- Proficiency with AI coding assistants and agentic tooling for integrations
- Experience provisioning workloads on a major cloud provider using Terraform
