Job Description
Canonical is hiring a Senior Jira Administrator to look after its Atlassian Jira Cloud environment. The job covers administration, configuration, automation and integrations. It is a full-time, remote post that can be performed from anywhere within EMEA time zones.
The administrator sits in the Commercial Systems team, which links the business applications used across the company so that information moves reliably to the right place at the right moment, and which automates business processes. Those applications include Jira, Salesforce, NetSuite, Greenhouse and Google Workspace, plus a few dozen more. The team relies on Python and Go together with open source tooling such as Airbyte and Temporal.
Daily work includes designing, documenting and building processes and automation inside Jira. The administrator also builds and maintains the integrations that link Jira to the data warehouse, and produces analytical dashboards that let stakeholders base decisions on data. Learning materials that can be reused across teams are part of the remit, and the administrator takes charge of urgent escalations and clears them quickly.
The post involves regular collaboration with engineering, operations and support groups worldwide. The posting emphasizes rigorous engineering, careful documentation and effective handling of stakeholders. The overall aim is to help engineering and business units use Jira to take on demanding work and make decisions grounded in data.
Applicants should have strong academic results from school and university and hands-on experience administering Jira and its wider Atlassian ecosystem. They should understand how technical and non-technical departments use Jira, and have worked as a Python developer. Clear professional English, good interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility and personal accountability are also expected, as is the ability to stay organized and productive in an all-remote setting.
Trips abroad take place two times annually for company gatherings lasting up to two weeks. Experience with process architecture and with complicated automation spanning several projects counts as an advantage.
