Twilio is hiring a Senior Network Engineer to join its Identity and Network Trust team on a remote basis. In this role, the selected professional will focus on building, operating, and maintaining global corporate network infrastructure, virtual private networks, zero trust network access, and cloud connectivity solutions. Twilio develops communications solutions that assist hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of developers in creating tailored customer interactions globally. This position suits an experienced network professional who can track hardware and software assets, monitor performance metrics like throughput and latency, and resolve escalated connectivity incidents.

The job involves collaborating closely with security and engineering teams to design a protected global network and utilize the Scaled Agile Framework to prioritize projects. Candidates should expect around fifteen percent travel for functional off-sites, customer meetings, or team gatherings. Responsibilities

  • Build, operate, and support the global corporate IT network infrastructure
  • Track network hardware and software assets
  • Monitor network performance metrics such as availability, utilization, throughput, and latency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify current and future networking needs
  • Prioritize projects using the Scaled Agile Framework
  • Develop testing and implementation methods for new local and wide area network systems
  • Analyze existing network architecture to improve efficiency, scalability, and sustainability
  • Formulate strategies for the maintenance and upgrading of network systems
  • Investigate and resolve network incidents and perform root cause analysis
  • Produce and maintain documentation for network standards, processes, and designs

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience building campus or data center network infrastructure
  • Five or more years of experience working with Cisco local area networks, wide area networks, and Wi-Fi, along with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • Three or more years of experience with Amazon Web Services cloud services and networking
  • Advanced knowledge of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802 standards and core Internet Engineering Task Force networking protocols
  • Hands-on familiarity with network monitoring and security compliance policies
  • Proficiency in client networking for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues across different Open Systems Interconnection model layers

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional certification
  • Amazon Web Services certification
  • Experience or certifications with Zscaler Zero Trust Systems
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and application programming interface automation
  • Experience with infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library framework application
  • Project management skills
