Wise is seeking a Senior Product Compliance & Risk Manager to join their team in Hyderabad. Operating within the product development function, this on-site role focuses on supporting cross-functional teams to launch compliant-by-design products and manage compliance risks specific to India.
This position is part of the first line of defence and requires working closely with product teams both locally in the APAC region and globally. Responsibilities include designing and refining product controls, managing regulatory and financial crime risks, executing regulatory change and remediation, and representing the company during external audits and inspections.
The role suits an autonomous professional who can balance regulatory requirements with customer experience, solve complex problems using data, and communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from engineering teams to external regulators like the RBI.
Responsibilities
- Design and continuously improve products and controls by communicating regulatory requirements in practical terms
- Identify, assess, and present regulatory and financial crime risks quantitatively and qualitatively while defining mitigation plans
- Conduct regulatory gap analyses, scope remediation actions, and ensure timely implementation
- Collaborate with global teams to align with existing programs and keep product teams informed of recent regulations
- Represent the company in external engagements including audits and regulatory inspections
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience in financial services such as banking, fintech, or consulting
- Expertise in regulatory and financial crime compliance and risk management in India with deep knowledge of local regulator expectations
- Experience working directly with product and engineering teams to translate regulations into business requirements
- Willingness to travel internationally to different company offices
- Legal authorization to work in India or Singapore
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a fintech or similar fast-paced environment
- Experience working with a PA-CB and/or ADII licensee
- Experience working within cross-border teams
