Job Description

A full-time, remote Senior Product Manager role within Elastic Security is open to candidates in the United States. The focus is Elastic XDR, the platform that detects threats and coordinates responses across an organization. The person shapes the roadmap for an assigned set of capabilities and helps define exposure and vulnerability offerings that are being folded into XDR.

Work includes bringing new telemetry sources into the product, combining Elastic's first-party data with partner security feeds from EDR, cloud, identity and network vendors. Remediation flows for vulnerabilities form part of the mandate, and priority decisions weigh exploitability and reachability over raw severity scores.

Partnering with engineers and with Elastic Security Labs researchers, the product manager turns customer requests and threat findings into requirements and presents the product to security executives. Being able to explain detection and exposure ideas to varied audiences is essential, as is experience across cloud, on-premises and disconnected deployments. The bar is at least five years in security product management, technical marketing or competitive analysis, plus a degree in computer science, information security or engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the roadmap for a defined set of XDR capabilities
  • Bring in new telemetry from first-party Elastic data and partner security tools
  • Build features that link events and trigger responses within a live environment
  • Define vulnerability prioritization and remediation features within the exposure program
  • Convert customer input and threat research into requirements
  • Explain the product and its direction to security executives and buyers
  • Feed field insight back into planning and document decisions for stakeholders

Requirements

  • Five years or more in security product management, technical marketing or competitive analysis
  • Minimum of three years in a neighboring product-development or engineering role
  • History of owning product areas through to improved, shipped results
  • Working familiarity with SIEM, EDR and XDR platforms, plus incident response or forensic work, as a product manager or practitioner
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security or engineering

Qualifications

  • Hands-on work as an incident responder, detection engineer or SOC analyst before moving into product
  • Solid grasp of detection analytics, prioritization methods and today's threat landscape
  • Awareness of AI security: the ways AI, ML and agentic systems can be targeted and defended
  • Experience with Customer Success, Sales, Engineering and Product colleagues
  • Routine use of AI tools for research and delivery, while owning the results

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Compensation tied to the scope of the work, not to earlier salary
  • Medical cover extending to family members in a number of locations
  • Adaptable hours and places of work for many positions
  • A generous annual holiday entitlement
  • Donation matching of up to $2,000 (or local equivalent) for charitable giving and volunteering
  • As many as 40 yearly hours for volunteer work of your choosing
  • Minimum 16-week parental leave
