Job Description
This is a remote, full-time Senior Product Manager job based in the United States, focused on Elastic's XDR (extended detection and response) product inside Elastic Security. The person takes charge of a major share of the XDR roadmap, moving features from first specification through to released and improved versions. Exposure and vulnerability management, which is merging into XDR, is also part of the scope.
Day-to-day work centers on how the product spots intrusions, links related events, assembles incidents and triggers responses across endpoints, cloud services, identity systems and networks. The role also widens the feeds XDR draws from, pairing Elastic's own telemetry with outside EDR, cloud, identity and network tools so correlation works across an entire customer environment.
The job is highly collaborative: the holder works side by side with engineering and with Elastic's threat research group, Elastic Security Labs. Requirements must be detailed enough for engineers to build without repeated clarification calls. The person presents the product to senior security buyers and must make sure features function in cloud, on-premises and fully disconnected deployments. Applicants should bring at least five years in security-focused product management, technical marketing or competitive analysis, and practical familiarity with SIEM, EDR and XDR platforms as well as incident response or forensic work.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a central portion of the XDR roadmap, spanning endpoints, cloud, identity and networks
- Advance detection, event correlation, incident assembly and response features
- Grow the telemetry and third-party integrations that XDR depends on
- Shape exposure and vulnerability work, ranking flaws by real exploitability and reachability rather than CVSS alone, and define remediation steps
- Turn customer feedback and Elastic Security Labs findings into product requirements
- Speak for the product with senior security customers and bring their insights into planning
- Produce roadmap trackers and decision memos so stakeholders stay informed
Requirements
- Five years or more in security product management, technical marketing or competitive analysis
- Minimum of three years in a neighboring product-development or engineering role
- History of owning product areas through to improved, shipped results
- Working familiarity with SIEM, EDR and XDR platforms, plus incident response or forensic work, as a product manager or practitioner
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security or engineering
Qualifications
- Hands-on work as an incident responder, detection engineer or SOC analyst before moving into product
- Solid grasp of detection analytics, prioritization methods and today's threat landscape
- Awareness of AI security: the ways AI, ML and agentic systems can be targeted and defended
- Experience with Customer Success, Sales, Engineering and Product colleagues
- Routine use of AI tools for research and delivery, while owning the results
