Job Description
Based in the United States, this full-time job is on-site and sits with Elastic's Product Finance group. The holder partners with product leaders to launch new offerings, pulling together the functions that must approve a pricing or packaging change before it goes live: FP&A, revenue teams, legal, IT and billing.
Keeping each group to its commitments, and making sure product intent is carried into commercial execution with no gaps, is the core of the work. Familiarity with subscription pricing approaches, tiering and bundling, consumption and usage billing, metering, and discounting is expected, along with an understanding of how those choices shape revenue recognition.
Much of the job is process design. The person documents how launches currently run, builds a repeatable playbook, and suggests changes that shorten the path from idea to release as the product line grows more intricate. The ideal profile is someone with over a decade of program or project leadership inside a SaaS or tech company's product group, a history of guiding outward-facing releases to completion, and clear communication for engineers, business leads and executives alike.
Responsibilities
- Align FP&A, revenue, legal, IT and billing teams so pricing and packaging changes land on schedule
- Make sure owners meet agreed dates and honor decisions reached in cross-team meetings
- Convert product plans into requirements each function can work from
- Chart the current launch flow and write it up as a reusable playbook
- Propose changes that shorten the path to market
- Keep a current ledger of tasks, owners, dependencies and sign-offs for each launch
- Flag obstacles early and escalate them before they stall a release
Requirements
- More than a decade of program or project leadership within the product group of a SaaS or technology firm
- Proven history steering complicated, outward-facing releases from kickoff to completion
- Practical grasp of SaaS pricing approaches, packaging design and monetization tools, including consumption and usage billing
- Polished written and spoken communication suited to engineers, business leads and executives
Qualifications
- Background spanning Product, Finance, Legal and Systems groups is highly valued
- Genuine interest in Elastic's products and in refining how launches are run
