This position suits builders who prefer high ownership, want to see direct impacts across web, mobile, and API releases, and wish to work at the frontier of AI-assisted testing. Responsibilities span designing scalable automation frameworks using Playwright, leveraging AI tools to generate test scripts, performing exploratory checks, and mentoring peers. Candidates must note that the interview process involves a mandatory in-person session at the Salt Lake City office, and applicants residing in B.C. are not eligible for this vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable automation suites using Playwright across web, API, and mobile platforms.
- Utilize AI coding assistants like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor to generate test plans, test cases, and page objects from requirements.
- Review, validate, and harden every AI-generated test script before merging.
- Drive down flaky tests through resilient locator strategies, AI-assisted self-healing, and automated failure triage.
- Incorporate automated quality gates into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Create functional, regression, API, and load testing coverage using Postman, JMeter, or k6.
- Perform exploratory testing on new features and UI changes to detect edge cases missed by automation.
- Turn escaped defects into automated regression checks.
- Collaborate with engineers early in the SDLC to embed tests and API contract checks.
- Establish evaluation rubrics to test non-deterministic AI-powered customer experiences like search and recommendations.
- Track and report quality metrics including automation coverage, defect escape rate, and flake rate.
- Mentor QA engineers on automation practices and responsible AI-assisted testing.
