Spotify seeks a Senior Revenue Operations Analyst to join its team in New York on a hybrid schedule, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office per week.

This position sits between operations and accounting, focusing on global Order-to-Cash procedures and the revenue close cycle. The chosen professional will help maintain reliable financial reporting while scaling systems for future business expansion.

Daily responsibilities involve working alongside Engineering, Sales, Tax, and Finance departments to address intricate operational hurdles and improve revenue mechanisms.

This role is well-suited for someone with a strong background in revenue accounting or operations who thrives in deadline-driven environments and collaborates effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Handle monthly and quarterly revenue closes involving manual adjustments, accruals, deferrals, and journal entries adhering to IFRS standards.
  • Prepare and assess balance sheet reconciliations across consolidated ledgers and statutory books.
  • Analyze end-of-month movements in accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and related accounts.
  • Oversee global e-invoicing processes for subsidiaries alongside the Tax team.
  • Manage day-to-day Order-to-Cash activities including manual billing and accounts receivable tasks.
  • Support internal and external audits, SOX compliance, and ITGC requirements.
  • Partner with IT and Financial Engineering to create and test system improvements and automated workflows.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Sales, FP&A, and Technical Accounting on strategic programs and revenue policies.
  • Provide mentorship to accounting team members and external vendor partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in revenue accounting, general ledger accounting, public accounting, or revenue operations.
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles and the complete Order-to-Cash lifecycle.
  • Practical experience handling e-invoicing workflows within a global and multi-entity organization.
  • Familiarity with billing and ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Proficiency in Excel with the ability to manage complex datasets.
  • Background working in environments governed by SOX controls and collaborating with auditors.
  • Experience operating within digital advertising, technology, media, entertainment, or podcasting sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, BigQuery, or SQL.
  • Active CPA or CA certification, or working toward obtaining one.
