As a Senior Software Engineer, the selected candidate will lead the design, development, and maintenance of core backend services. Responsibilities include building scalable microservices, creating robust APIs, and optimizing database performance to help customers improve procurement workflows. The role involves close collaboration with frontend, product, and DevOps teams, as well as mentoring junior staff members.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead backend system architecture to ensure security, high performance, and reliability
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and microservices for the procure-to-pay platform
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Implement integrations with third-party platforms, such as Oracle Fusion ERP
- Optimize database queries and manage data storage solutions using MongoDB
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within existing backend systems
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for system health and reliability
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding technology stacks and platform evolution
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on background as a MEAN Stack Developer building complex backend systems
- Experience constructing distributed and scalable backend infrastructure using microservices
- Practical knowledge of microservice architectures and RESTful API design
- Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js or Nest.js
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, message queues, distributed caches, and data pipelines
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning capabilities
Qualifications
- Experience with GCP deployments and pipeline management
- Background in integrating external systems, particularly enterprise ERPs
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts in backend services
- Knowledge of monorepos and tooling such as Nx.dev
