The engineering team is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Cash Out business unit based in the Vancouver, BC office. • Develop reliable transaction workflows integrated with payment systems using idempotent requests and error-handling protocols.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development platforms like Cursor and Claude across daily engineering tasks.
  • Build REST and gRPC application programming interfaces alongside event-driven integrations utilizing tools like Kafka, SNS, and SQS.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to manage alerts, investigate incidents, and conduct postmortems.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to shape project scopes and assess product experiments.
  • Provide mentorship to engineering peers through code and architecture reviews.

Requirements

  • Possess four or more years of software engineering experience focusing on building and maintaining backend systems.
  • Demonstrate hands-on daily usage of AI tools like Cursor and Claude in professional software development.
  • Bring practical proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Kotlin, Java, C#, Go, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to work in multiple languages.
  • Have hands-on familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases along with messaging frameworks like Kafka and AWS SNS or SQS.
  • Maintain strong communication skills alongside an action-oriented mindset for dynamic environments.
  • Be based in the Vancouver area and able to fulfill the hybrid requirement of working from the Vancouver office two days a week.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
  • Bring previous background working with payments, ledgers, or money movement infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate experience developing web or mobile client experiences using technologies like React or native mobile platforms.
  • Possess familiarity with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
  • Have experience helping engineering teams adopt agentic workflows and AI-driven processes.
