Wise is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Contact Automation team to help shape the future of customer support. In this role, the engineer will act as a technical leader within an autonomous group, building end-to-end solutions for the Wise Assistant. The position involves designing scalable components, handling intent detection systems, and working with modern artificial intelligence technologies to resolve customer issues.
The role operates within an agile environment where engineers collaborate with product managers, content designers, analysts, and data scientists. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable components for the Wise Assistant
- Build and maintain a core Java microservice that consumes Kafka messages
- Contribute to Typescript and Python codebases
- Take ownership of intent detection systems, contact processing pipelines, and routing logic
- Implement foundational LLM models using AWS Bedrock to resolve customer queries
- Manage technical integration with third-party AI Agent vendors
- Optimize automation platform performance, reliability, and scalability
- Collaborate with content designers on automated conversational flows
- Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance
