Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the IT Operations team within ESTO and help drive its artificial intelligence transformation. This position operates within a fast-paced, incubator-style setting that offers direct visibility to senior leadership.
The person in this role will focus on scaling the infrastructure behind internal AI products and developing custom full-stack solutions. Responsibilities include ensuring the resilience, security, and observability of critical systems at scale, while building reliable distributed platforms, data pipelines, and orchestration mechanisms.

Responsibilities
- Manage the complete delivery lifecycle of artificial intelligence products by constructing production-grade distributed systems, deployment orchestration, and data pipelines.
- Drive the adoption of platforms through developer-facing tools, abstractions, and clean APIs so product engineering groups can integrate artificial intelligence capabilities easily.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leadership across various groups to coordinate infrastructure needs, manage technical dependencies, and set shared platform agreements.
- Define technical culture and engineering standards by setting architectural patterns, mentoring peers, and improving code quality, monitoring, and operational reliability.
- Develop full-stack applications to support internal artificial intelligence infrastructure using Python or Go.
Requirements
- Have at least five years of background in supporting and automating cloud environments and AWS network infrastructure using configuration and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
- Demonstrate practical experience troubleshooting, deploying, and managing containerized workloads utilizing Kubernetes and Docker within production settings.
- Show proficiency in at least one programming language including Python, Ruby, Go, or Bash, alongside Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Display a platform-builder mindset with a proven track record of creating reusable infrastructure, abstractions, and APIs utilized by multiple engineering teams.
- Apply generative artificial intelligence responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, quality, and cost.
