Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Platform team on a remote basis. The company provides hardened, secure, and production-ready open-source software builds to help organizations enhance compliance and speed up development. In this role, you will focus on customer-facing platform capabilities, including public APIs, authentication systems, and notification features. As part of the team, you will design and implement backend services and APIs consumed across various products. You will collaborate closely with product management and front-end teams to handle features from conception through iteration. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs
- Ensure shared platform capabilities function effectively for diverse products and customer segments
- Own features end-to-end from design and implementation to rollout and iteration
- Draft technical design documents and present design plans clearly
- Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines and clear outcomes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment
- Proficiency with Go (Golang) or strong readiness to ramp up quickly
- Experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs consumed externally and internally
- Familiarity with microservices, cloud-native architectures, containers, and Kubernetes
- Ability to build observable and resilient production services
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple disciplines
Qualifications
- Prior experience building platform or shared services that span multiple products or customer experiences
- Experience in the cloud-native, containers, or security ecosystem, or with tools in the broader CNCF space
- Meaningful open source contributions, especially as a maintainer or regular contributor
