Doximity is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer, Data to join its engineering team. This is a remote role open to candidates in the United States, Canada, and select countries in South America. As the leading clinical AI company operating the largest network of U.S. clinicians, Doximity provides an AI-powered workflow platform used by over 85 percent of U.S. physicians and more than 300 health systems. The mission of the organization is to assist clinicians in achieving higher productivity to deliver superior patient care.
This position requires a software engineer with a product mindset who prioritizes projects based on high-level goals and business impact. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to build ETL tasks and data pipelines that extract meaningful insights. Responsibilities include translating product requirements into concrete project plans, architecting end-to-end data pipelines, and establishing reusable data architecture standards. The role demands expertise in Python, fluency in SQL, and familiarity with asynchronous approaches such as streaming, APIs, and multithreading.
Doximity operates as a heavily distributed team with over 500 private GitHub repositories containing pipelines, open-source projects, and internal tools. Candidates should possess strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, alongside a working knowledge of how machine learning and AI applications are deployed and monitored. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to create ETL tasks and pipelines for insight extraction
- Translate product requirements into actionable project plans for execution by peers or oneself
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines, selecting appropriate technologies and handling building, testing, and rollout
- Establish repeatable, schedulable, and automated data architecture processes and standards for other teams
- Partner with data leadership to drive meaningful projects across the commercial organization
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional industry experience as a data engineer or in a similar capacity
- Expertise in Python and fluency in SQL for building maintainable data pipelines
- Experience with designing end-to-end data pipelines from conception to rollout
- Familiarity with asynchronous systems, including APIs, streaming, and multithreading
- Working knowledge of how machine learning and AI applications are monitored and deployed
