Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Auth Experiences) to join its Trust & Safety Experience group, which oversees customer authentication, verification, and fraud journeys. In this remote-first role, you will build and maintain web and mobile interfaces for systems designed to be high-availability and low-latency. Affirm provides financial services intended to offer predictable payment methods with transparent terms and no hidden fees.
This position is well-suited for a frontend professional who enjoys guiding teams through complex technical challenges, collaborating cross-functionally with product management, design, and analytics, and establishing high standards for code quality. You will be responsible for meeting quarterly team goals, writing maintainable code, implementing metrics for system monitoring, and supporting peers through mentorship and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous and open-ended problems
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics stakeholders during ideation and technical decision-making
- Proactively identify and resolve technical, process, and business roadblocks
- Monitor system artifacts, handle operational escalations, and participate in on-call duties
- Establish and improve code review and design standards across the team
- Mentor team members by providing constructive guidance and feedback
Requirements
- Have at least 4 years of experience developing and architecting web applications with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
- Demonstrate proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Show experience designing technical plans for significant features or system components
- Possess the ability to make substantial changes safely within a large codebase
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for global collaboration
