Job Description
Wise is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (IC3 - Backend) to join its team in Hyderabad on a full-time and on-site basis. Wise operates a global financial mission focused on moving and holding money internationally while protecting users from financial crime and fraud.
In this role, the engineer will work within the Servicing Platform to build foundational identity engines, high-throughput risk platforms, and real-time APIs. Responsibilities include handling complex system migrations, driving technical integrations onto modernized APIs, building low-latency microservices, and maintaining operational health and data consistency across customer lifecycles.
This position suits an experienced backend engineer interested in tackling real-time scale challenges, optimizing risk check speeds, and collaborating with cross-functional peers globally.
Responsibilities
- Drive hands-on technical integration of products onto modernized Identity, Account and Risk APIs
- Execute key migrations such as deprecating legacy models and services
- Improve integrations into financial crime domains to unblock product and FinCrime squads
- Build, maintain and optimize low-latency, high-availability microservices targeting sub-second risk check speeds
- Implement robust schemas, data contracts and immutable data flows for complete auditability
- Maintain operational health including SLAs, SLOs, monitoring, and alerting of platform components
- Participate in incident resolution and post-mortems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, FinCrime, and Risk Assessment across London, Tallinn, and Hyderabad
