The company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Internal Tooling to join its remote-first DevOps and Developer Experience engineering group.
In this position, the engineer will focus on building, scaling, and evolving internal platforms, services, and automations that enable the broader engineering organization to deploy software securely and rapidly. Current infrastructure relies on Python and Pulumi for Infrastructure as Code, alongside custom CI/CD services, feature flags, automated canary releases, and database query approval workflows. The role also involves integrating artificial intelligence and agentic development tools to support engineering productivity while maintaining security and architecture standards.
This opportunity is designed for individuals who enjoy building abstractions and frameworks rather than merely consuming existing products. Candidates should be comfortable working in a remote environment spanning over 25 countries, collaborating with a team of more than 150 people guided by principles of customer obsession, ownership, shipping frequently, and maintaining balance.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the internal development platform, tools, services, and automations
- Improve existing internal tools, services, and automation projects
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions
- Design and deliver major initiatives to positively impact the engineering team
- Collaborate with other engineers to understand pain points and help prioritize new initiatives
- Lead the adoption of AI coding tools across the engineering organization while ensuring safety and simplicity
- Participate in on-call rotations after completing training
Requirements
- Have five or more years of experience in SRE, DevOps, DevEx, or Platform Engineering with a heavy emphasis on software development
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying needs, taking action, and owning problems to create solutions
- Possess experience building frameworks, abstractions, and automation
- Show curiosity about LLMs and AI coding tools and how they change engineering
