- Assess whether discovered signals are actionable within practical performance, proxy, and execution constraints
- Deliver evidence-based recommendations complete with impact estimates, trade-offs, and anticipated false-positive rates
- Build and sustain research automation tooling such as scrapers, observers, and fuzzers to automatically detect browser changes and surface new signals
- Monitor upcoming browser specifications, RFC discussions, and developer channels to predict and analyze product impact
- Develop structured internal documentation, proofs of concept, and experimental signal implementations for engineering partners
Requirements
- Deep familiarity with web security concepts, browser internals, and web platform fundamentals
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript alongside the capability to read and navigate multiple programming languages
- Solid understanding of core web networking principles
- Proven history of uncovering and explaining undocumented behavior in web protocols, technologies, and APIs through debugging and reverse engineering
- Demonstrated ability to shepherd research from an initial concept through to validated, large-scale data testing
- Strong communication skills to explain technical findings and trade-offs to product and engineering colleagues
Qualifications
- Experience developing custom automation and research tools like fuzzers, observers, or scrapers
- History of submitting bug reports to WebKit, Firefox, or Chromium issue trackers
- Background or interest in backend software development using Go
- Familiarity with anti-fingerprinting techniques and browser extensions
- Publicly available research contributions such as conference presentations, blog posts, CVE discoveries, or open-source projects
