The organization is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer 2 to join the international Platform SRE division. This group focuses on constructing, running, and expanding the multi-region SaaS architecture that supports global API connectivity.
This hands-on position requires designing, automating, and maintaining production systems that serve thousands of users across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform. Candidates will handle multi-region Kubernetes clusters, gateway architectures, and service meshes while safeguarding the availability, security, and performance of SaaS offerings.
The role fits technical professionals who enjoy managing enterprise-scale production SaaS platforms, automating daily operations, and elevating resilience and deployment pipelines. Daily tasks involve maintaining infrastructure across multiple cloud providers, optimizing caching and data layers, and enhancing incident response preparedness.
Responsibilities
- Operate and scale the Konnect global SaaS platform across multiple regions and clouds
- Build, automate, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure and deployment workflows utilizing Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm, and ArgoCD
- Design, optimize, and maintain multi-region data and caching layers including PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, and Druid
- Run and improve Kong Gateway and Kong Mesh environments in hybrid and distributed architectures
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to automate service delivery
- Enhance observability and incident response readiness using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and Thanos
- Collaborate with development and security teams to maintain compliance with regulatory, security, and reliability standards
- Participate in a global 24/7 on-call rotation and improve operational playbooks
- Contribute to scaling initiatives targeting elasticity, reliability, and cost-efficiency
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing SaaS or PaaS systems at enterprise scale
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes including cluster and networking troubleshooting
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Terragrunt
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows like ArgoCD, Atlantis, or Helm
- Proficiency in at least one programming language including Go, Python, or Bash
- Solid understanding of Linux or Unix systems, networking, load balancers, and distributed systems
- Background working with API gateway and service mesh technologies
- Experience with streaming systems like Kafka and observability platforms
- Experience operating in a 24/7/365 production support environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Hands-on experience with Kong Gateway, Kong Mesh, or similar service connectivity tools
- Experience operating ClickHouse, Druid, or other time-series and analytics databases
- Experience managing PostgreSQL and Redis in multi-region configurations
- Working knowledge of AWS networking, Azure VNet, or GCP NCC
- Understanding of disaster recovery, resiliency testing, and compliance-driven reliability practices
