This position is ideal for software engineers who want to scale backend data infrastructure, identify new use cases, and collaborate closely with analytics, product management, and design departments. Daily work involves dividing large initiatives into manageable phases with guidance from a manager and tech lead, supporting system availability through on-call rotations, building performance metrics, and assisting peers during the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Break down large projects into individual tasks with the assistance of the tech lead and manager
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams to support the product development lifecycle
  • Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on risk and trade-off decisions
  • Support system operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics and handling on-call responsibilities
  • Contribute to team community and growth activities such as conducting interviews
  • Navigate large codebases, debug code written by others, and deliver constructive code reviews

Requirements

  • Have at least 1.5 years of experience working as a software engineer
  • Bring experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems
  • Demonstrate proficiency in either Python or Kotlin
  • Show familiarity with distributed system foundations and technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, and Flink
  • Write clear, well-tested, understandable, and extensible code
