Elastic seeks a Software Engineer II for its Control Plane - Hosted (Applications / Foundations) team. The organization offers cloud-based solutions focused on search, security, and observability, utilizing both structured and unstructured data to assist organizations with AI implementation.
In this position, you will participate in technical design, programming, troubleshooting complex system failures, and prioritizing feature requests and bug fixes. You will steer cross-team technical designs, establish development best practices, and contribute to architectural plans alongside a globally distributed engineering team.
This is a full-time position located in the United States. The position features a base salary range of USD 133,200 to USD 159,800 per year, with potential eligibility for stock awards and a comprehensive employee benefits program.
Responsibilities
- Guide cross-team technical designs and assist in establishing high-level architecture
- Establish development best practices to ensure a reliable and scalable foundation
- Contribute to and direct technical plans across product teams
- Collaborate with internal groups such as Support and Elasticsearch engineers
Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a history of shipping high-quality code
- Bring previous experience offering pragmatic technical leadership to engineering groups
- Possess familiarity with back-end programming languages including Java, Go, or Scala
- Demonstrate technical depth in SaaS-relevant technologies such as containers, orchestration, or networking
- Show a strong enthusiasm for automation and quality
