Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer II, Fullstack (App Experience) to join its remote engineering organization. This position sits within the Marketplace and App Experience domain, which serves as a core consumer strategy pillar driving user journeys across mobile and web interfaces.
In this capacity, you will handle cross-team front-end projects, collaborating with product management, design, and analytics stakeholders. Working alongside your tech lead and manager, you will divide large projects into manageable tasks, deliver work in phased stages, and contribute to system operations, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities. The role is well-suited for engineers who want to build extensible code, engage in team growth activities, and navigate large codebases while partnering closely with global engineering colleagues.
This is a remote-first position. For candidates based in Canada, the role is open exclusively to individuals residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan. Compensation includes base pay, equity rewards from Affirm Holdings, monthly stipends for technology, health, and wellness, and fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their dependents.
Responsibilities
- Break down complex projects into individual tasks and deliver them across multiple phases with guidance from the tech lead and manager
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics partners during ideation, technical constraint evaluation, and risk assessment
- Monitor system operations and artifacts, handle escalations, and participate in on-call and maintenance duties
- Take part in team growth initiatives, including conducting candidate interviews
Requirements
- Have at least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer
- Possess experience building and shipping web applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue
- Demonstrate experience deploying mobile applications using native or cross-platform languages like React Native
- Show experience designing, building, and launching scalable APIs utilizing Python or Kotlin
- Be capable of navigating large codebases, reviewing peer code, and writing clear, tested, and extensible code
- Reside in an eligible Canadian province if applying for the Canadian remote position
