The role manages field trials across the organization's smallholder farmer network: choosing promising products, designing statistically sound trial protocols, handling trial logistics and timing, and keeping data reliable through regular field validation.
About three quarters of the work is research and trial management. The remainder goes to practical agronomic support for field staff and farmers, turning findings into clear guidance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and rank products with strong potential impact, working with the impact lead to design protocols
- Coordinate trial logistics and schedules so inputs arrive on time and delays do not affect the season
- Give field staff and farmers practical troubleshooting, and turn research results into usable guidance
- Strengthen field staff skills through hands-on training, and check trial quality through regular data reviews
