Job Description
Kaseya is looking for a Sr Director, Market & Competitive Intelligence to work remotely from the United States on a full-time basis. This leader reports straight to the Chief Marketing Officer and builds an intelligence function that works with product marketing and product management groups, revenue and sales teams, customer success and senior executives. The goal is to turn insight about customers, markets, rivals and buyer behavior into choices about positioning, pricing and growth.
Kaseya calls itself a leading vendor of AI-driven IT management and cybersecurity software for managed service providers and in-house IT departments. It states that it works with customers in over 20 nations, oversees more than 15 million endpoints, and has backing from Insight Partners.
The director will set up and run the competitive intelligence program, covering rival profiles, sales battlecards, guides for objection handling and early alerts about rival launches, price changes and deals. Other duties include market sizing and landscape reviews for the MSP and SMB IT segment, customer research and win/loss studies, a shared segmentation model and a measurement system for marketing results. The role teams up with data science and RevOps staff on predictive models for churn and lifetime value, delivers recurring executive briefings, and builds a team of analysts and researchers.
The ideal candidate has at least ten years of progressive work in competitive intelligence, market research, analytics or strategy roles, including product marketing, plus three or more years leading a team or program of that kind. B2B SaaS background is strongly preferred, and exposure to IT management, cybersecurity, channel programs or infrastructure software is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the competitive intelligence program, including profiles, battlecards and objection guides
- Establish early-warning monitoring for rivals' launches, pricing shifts and acquisition activity
- Direct market intelligence such as total addressable market analysis, landscape mapping and new category assessments
- Create an enterprise voice-of-customer function and a structured win/loss program
- Maintain a single customer segmentation model that all go-to-market teams follow
- Own how marketing performance is measured, from pipeline influence to revenue and funnel conversion
- Team up with data science and RevOps staff to build predictive models for churn, expansion and lifetime value
- Deliver regular executive briefings on market shifts, rival threats, customer sentiment and growth prospects
- Weave competitive findings into rep onboarding and coaching, then measure how they change win rates
- Recruit, coach and grow a team of analysts and researchers
Requirements
- Ten-plus years of progressive experience spanning competitive intelligence, market research, analytics, product marketing or strategy work
- Three-plus years managing teams or programs in research, analytics or strategy
- Track record of building or significantly growing an analytics or research function
- Hands-on background in customer segmentation, voice-of-customer work, competitive analysis and win/loss studies
- Strong analysis that turns fragmented data into a clear, defensible perspective
- Excellent writing and speaking skills, including presenting to C-level leaders
- Capable of guiding corporate development, marketing, sales and product colleagues toward shared goals without formal authority
Qualifications
- Experience at private-equity-owned or rapidly growing software companies that expand through acquisitions
- Understanding of the MSP market and the rivals who compete in it
- Hands-on use of CI platforms, analyst research and AI or machine learning analytics projects
- Work history in recurring-revenue businesses where renewals drive results
- MBA or an equivalent advanced degree
